RED WINE KITS
Australian Shiraz - Australian vintages of the Shiraz (a.k.a. Syrah) varietal are arguably some of the finest. The long hot Australian climate brings the best out of this tiny, intensely aromatic grape. Rich deep red in colour, you will discover a prominent bouquet and flavour featuring plum, cherry and raspberry, with subtle spice and fresh herbs. (3 - 36 + months, dry.)

Italian Barolo - Barolo wines are among the finest of the great Italian wines, they are rich, bold and immensely flavourful. Included aromatic oak chips further rounds out its character. Barolo offers a rich bouquet and flavour of mixed ripe fruit, strawberries, oak, tannin and fine herbs. Age to develop its full potential a minimum of 3 months. (3 - 36 + months, dry)

California Cabernet Sauvignon - This noble and highly esteemed Vinifera varietal is the foundation of the great wines of France. Cabernet is a smaller grape with thick, highly pigmented skins; these characteristics give the wine its intense colour, rich aromas and good tannic qualities. Cabernet’s aromatic qualities include black currant, plum, mixed fruit, subtle tobacco and cedar notes. Ages gracefully. (3 - 36 + months, dry).

Chilean Carmenere - In Chile, often confused with Merlot, but more fruity and dusty compared to Merlot’s spicy, stalky flavours.

Italian Merlot - Medium dark-red with a smooth rich flavour. Fruity overtones. Goes well with game, cheese & hors d’oeuvres. A great sipping wine.

Italian Nebbiolo - This wine is produced from the intense red grape of the same name and is the pride of the Piedmont district in northern Italy. Nebbiolo is a rich, tannic, exotically scented wine, accented by a generous oak character. Intense berry notes dominate when young, ageing well, into a noble red with hints of dark chocolate with a fruit character. (3 to 36 + months, dry.)

New Zealand Pinot Noir - Pinot Noir is the choice varietal of many fine French vintages. Pinot Noir produces wines which are brilliant cherry red in colour. This wine offers a mixed berry character, including: raspberry, blackberry with hints of strawberry and cherry, which mingle with earthy and leafy aromas. Naturally lower in tannin content, Pinot Noir is a soft, easy drinking wine which is equally enjoyable young or aged. (1 - 36 + months, dry.)

South African Pinotage - A cross of Pinot Noir and Cinsaut. Medium bodied and subtly flavoured.

European VVDCR (Vieux Chateau Du Roi) - This premium selection was created to honour the great wines from France’s Southern Rhone Valley. The premier red wines of this region feature up to 13 varietals (8 reds and 5 whites), including Grenache Rouge, Cinsault, Mourverdre and Petit Syrah. This region features sunny, dry, hot summers, which produces rich, aromatic grapes ideal for “big red” wines. Our Vieux Chateau du Roi, created from a similar blend reflects these superb qualities. Discover blackberry, cherry and blueberry notes, complimented with tinges of oak and earthy aromas. This superb wine begins to mellow and develop its complexity after a few months. (3 - 36 + months, dry.)
